All About Me

My Journey

Kia ora,  I'm an Acupuncturist who's been in practice since completing my Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) in Wellington, NZ in 2020.

I decided to become an Acupuncturist after experiencing my own health issues. Which were resolved with Acupuncture.

I've had a diverse life experience that includes raising three sons, working as a Teacher, and providing elderly care.

I've had the pleasure of working in Acupuncture clinics in both Wellington and Nelson, where I've had the opportunity to get to know people and help them on their healing journeys. I've treated various issues such as shoulders, knees, backs, menopause, depression, anxiety, cancer recovery, and more.My practice is all about empowering people to live healthier and more easeful painfree lives. I use Acupuncture, Tuina (massage), Moxabustion, and Cupping, incorporating both traditional Chinese and Japanese methods to achieve the best results.

If you're looking for a positive, caring Acupuncturist, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I would love to help you restore and revitalize yourself.

All about Laura

Having qualified as a Midwife in the UK in 2006, I have felt privileged to provide midwifery care in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. My travels and experiences led me to settle down in New Zealand with my husband and two children. I continue to work part time as a Midwife in the Nelson/Tasman region.

My interest in acupuncture stemmed from seeing how effective treatment could be for women in their pregnancies, labours/birth experiences and postnatally, and experiencing those benefits first hand. I thoroughly enjoyed learning Midwifery Acupuncture and this inspired me to broaden my knowledge through completing the Bachelor of Science (Acupuncture) with the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Acupuncture treatment has the potential to create a positive impact on general functioning in daily life. It can benefit people of all ages and situations. Whether presenting with a physical or mechanical problem, mental health or emotional issue, I look forward to treating you through acupuncture.

I am registered with the Chinese Medicine Council and hold an active annual practising certificate. I am also an ACC provider and a member of Acupuncture New Zealand.

FAQs

I’m Here for You

What should I expect from my first session?

In our first session, we will explore your medical history, situation, and goals to understand your needs. Chinese medicine goes beyond symptoms to identify the root cause of any issue. We will develop a plan for your wellness and begin treatment in that session.

How does it work under ACC?

To have a treatment that is covered by ACC (with a $35 surcharge) you will need to have a claim with ACC for an injury, The practitioner who made the claim for you (Doctor, Physiotherapist, Chiropractor, Osteopath) will have given you an ACC45 number (or ACC has messaged/emailed you). You will need this before coming to see me.
